I am from the most southern point of Africa...also known as 'Cape Town', where our beautiful Table Mountain is in a global competition to be voted as one of the new natural wonders of the world. The results will be given at 11:11 on the 11/11/2011. I must admit there is some pretty stiff competition. Nature knows how to create and the beauty of all are jaw-dropping.The mountain is my favorite aspect of CT, also the beautiful oceans and skies. This is a beautiful planet...and I am glad to say that Africa is putting effort into 'greening up'.

Among other places, Cape Town is on my "Must Visit" list. My former neighbour was from South Africa and he would always show me the most beautiful pictures he had taken on his visits back home. He also always had the best barbecue food I have ever tasted! :)

Born in Seattle, raised on a small island only reachable by ferry boat, lived in California, New York City, Berlin Germany and Savannah, Georgia, and now back in Seattle, where it's green all year round and I can see mountains and water everywhere I look.

And speaking of the Philippines, my grandmother was half Filipino and my father was born in Cebu - I'd love to visit some day. I've heard the Philippines are beautiful.

I'm from a south Indian historical & cultural city, Mysore at the moment but will be moving to the eastern part - Kolkatta by the middle of December on a transfer posting in my Company. This city is quiet & modest, wheres the one that I go to is full of everything-people, people & more people with too many buildings, cars all crowded. .

Happy to meet people here! B)

I'm from a little corner in Texas. We are up to a whopping 35,000 in population, have 2 McDonald's and three grocery stores. I believe I know just about everyone in our town and if I don't, I will shortly. Our main industry is oil pump production and fast food.

I am from the financial capital of India, Mumbai. I have spent my entire 20 year lifetime in the same city, and I might just go to a USA university to pursue higher studies or something in the next couple of years. It is great to see a lot of people from all parts of the world coming together on this forum.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland; moved all over the U.K.; now live in Littleton, Colorado.

I work with residential hot water savings, industrial biofilm removal, nonthermal drying (for wastewater/biosolids, etc.) and the green side of oil and gas (reducing environmental impact, extending well life, producing more natural gas liquids, etc.).

Well, born in Queens, New york, moved when I was 7 years old to a small town called Cobleskill (up-state New York), then moved to Windham, Main when I got married and lived there for two years until I wound up here in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I've been in Charlotte for the past 18 years and love it. Maybe around Christmas I miss the snow (like around now), but that's the only time.

I'm from South Eastern Pennsylvania. I live just a few miles outside of Pittsburgh. Wind energy seems to be catching on around here, though. There are a lot of fields around here full of wind turbines. hopefully PA will arise as one of the top contenders of green energy.

Out of curiosity, what's Scotland like? Not only in general, but also as far as the country being on the "green" side of things goes. I've always wanted to visit but have yet to make my way out there.

I've been living in Adelaide, South Australia for the past twenty years or so. It must be the only state here where nothing ever happens. Every other state has had successions of bushfires and floods, but our one million population seems to be immune from natural disasters!

Hey, I'll respond to this two months late...

Considering it rains 270+ days a year, Scotland is very green (although the cicites are very gray). Edinburgh is a total tourist town -- it's not uncommon to look out and see nothing but buses -- but rich in history. Glasgow has a good music scene. There's a small town called Dunoon that's a peninsula -- you go there at the right time of year (say, May) and it's one of the prettiest places around. Super mellow.
