News story probably few of us have heard about-
a coal slurry spill of 264 million gallons in Canada.
They are calling it the largest spill in Canada's history.
Test results of the water quality are still secret. What are they hiding?
It smells like a cover-up (as noted in the piece, cover-up's have happened in the USA from spills.)

Link below also includes a chart of previous spills in other area's; many thanks to massey energy. :angry:

The latest group to join us environmentalists against fracking is
wait for it......................
banks.
Fannie and Freddie for instance, do not allow oil or gas rigs on their properties, and other banks (Wells Fargo
among others) are saying they will not lend money for mortgages with fracking rigs.
A :yahoo: ?

More fracking news and the thousands of gallons of water used and wasted.

Oh and if you too always feel persecuted and more important than you really are, just become a Fracking Executive like this guy, who brings a cop with him to an HOA meeting and tells anyone who disagrees with him they are on a watch list as eco-terrorists.

What a tool.

The halliburton loophole is well known for non-disclosure of chemicals/processes on fracking.

Hopefully, it will get vetoed but the gop was at it again-
"The House also voted to prevent the Department of the Interior from implementing proposed rules
that would require full disclosure of fracking chemicals, and would govern hydraulic fracturing on public lands."

So for all the people that think it's Obama's fault, they need a rethink. It's all on congress.

(To be fair, Obama is pro natural gas) :angry:

Countries/states that have banned fracking outright or have a moratorium on  the practice.
"France, Bulgaria, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Vermont, New Jersey, Quebec,
Cantabria in Spain and the island of Hawaii."

A new ordinance in Dallas has banned fracking within 1500 of a home, school, church or well;
essentially banning it citywide. It was 300 feet.
Previous restrictions included parks and floodplains.

Getting that "sinking feeling"?
That's the stark reality for these homeowners.

Although it is a move in the right direction, I think it's interesting that people might feel safer with a fracking well 1500 feet away rather than 300.  These wells cause destruction many miles from where they are drilled.

But if not being able to actually see the well from your front door makes you feel safe, more power to you.

I must say that we cannot stop fighting fracking, in many areas people may feel they have no way to stop fracking.  The more they hear of the pollution and poisoning of water resources, the more they want it to be stopped, yet are unaware of the growing movements to accomplish this goal.

This forums information is a beacon of light through the darkness lighting the way.  It's information is timely, helpful and gives hope.  It shows what people are doing to stop fracking.  So great work, but the work goes on.  Like coal we face a long battle, but through information we build consensus, share solutions and provide the real truth about the polluting energy sources.

Thank you but you are the "beacon of light" too.
And you're right, the information on these forums is invaluable. :biggrin:

Getting into strange territory here-
protesters are being arrested as terrorists for protesting against fracking and the Keystone pipeline;
(thanks in part to TransCanada whispering in law enforcement's ears)

Is freedom of speech gone forever? Peaceful, non-violent...........but still called terrorists?

And this falls under the heading of WT? Glitter fell off one of the banners they were holding;
and the FBI and HazMat teams were called in to identify the substance. JFC!

The anti-terrorism laws being used are flying under the radar of mainstream media (go figure).  Like when AWOL and Buckshot first started flying reconnaissance missions on mainland US against US civilians.  The mainstream media was far too busy with the important stuff, like what actor/actress got arrested for shoplifting.

Great article.  It seems that the secrecy is the most dangerous thing about fracking now in the US.  That would also mean that the secrecy is the most valuable thing to the frackers right now.  Keep it out of the news.  Tell the lie, make it big, then keep repeating it.
