Horigotatsu,
. . . looks like a regular tatami floor,
. . . with storage underneath,
but, there is a pop-up table,
. . . with an electric heater underneath,
. . . covered by a heavy blanket,
but, the open area under the table,
. . . allows you to  feel like you are sitting in a chair.
