Obama's proposal will cut carbon emissions by 32% by 2030; including natural gas, (which
we're not a fan of because of fracking) and closing down coal plants.
Obama said in a video message that
climate change is threatening our economy, our security and our health.

(And of course; Obama's right. They'll say -"Omg; it'll cost jobs, hurt the economy"; same old tired scare mongering
they love to trot out whenever faced with something new.)
Btw-(you can fast forward; click on the minutes if you don't want to hear the other speakers.
Obama comes in at 11 in.)

Plan is a great start, but not enough. Lets hope the next administration takes it further.
My two cents butting in as a noob to the forum.

last choice Hilary.
I know, I know; it would be great to have another Democrat in office and a woman to boot; but I don't trust
her so Bernie's the one!
If any of the clowns from their famous clown car get in, we'll be looking at 130 in the shade in a few short years.

President Obama’s Clean Power Plan,
. . . designed to cut carbon emissions from power plants,
. . . seems pragmatic and moderate,
. . . certainly by European standards.
Yet for US observers it “makes history”,
. . . because it is the FIRST time the federal government,
. . . puts limits on “carbon pollution”.
Power plants are “the largest single source of carbon pollution in the US”,
. . . generating “about a 1/3 of America’s carbon pollution.
That’s more pollution than our:
. . . . . . Cars,
. . . . . . Airplanes, and
. . . . . . Homes generate combined.”

Considering we have a do-nothing congress, yep; it's big deal for the states.
Not all countries have that many foot dragging deniers in their midst.
And we hadn't gone backwards for 8 years with ole' bush 2; we'd be farther ahead of the game. But he
was too busy sending youngsters off to war and letting people die of thirst in Louisiana.
