I watched a Tv show where it features a factory that dumps hazardous waste material into the river.  The government has put a stop to it but within a couple of months, they are back in business and so is the dumping of waste in to the river.

Yes. This is a chronic problem all over the world.

Take for example this article:

It will take similar actions to slowly curb the problem

‘Boats sail in the river, ships sail in the sea…’
When our children read this famous piece of poem their imagination takes them to an innocent region entirely free from pollution.

Alas! Ships, to the close of every calendar year, discharge in the sea five to fifty million tons of engine waste and oil.

Our children do not know this. They do not know that such an action is in straight defiance of existing international treaties.

They should know what we have been doing, because they will shape things of the world in future.

When toxic substances enter a body of water, they will be dissolved, become suspended in water or get deposited on the bed of the water body. The resulting water pollution causes the quality of the water to deteriorate and affects aquatic ecosystems.

What do you think is creating these toxic substances?
