Yesterday, I took a box of old light bulbs to the city's designated drop off center. Later, I started thinking about how could the light bulbs be repurposed. I found this great post about creative ways to use old light bulbs. I never ceased to be amazed at people's creativity.

There are some other great uses, but I seem to have a thing for aquariums lately.

Not sure about the aquarium but I really like the idea of using bulbs for models. A new take on ships in bottles.

Some really great ideas. I think my favorite one was the lightbulb lamps. It is a way for the bulbs to continue their purpose in a new but very old fashioned way! It looks like a very interesting website to check out for other ideas as well. Thanks!

I'm not usually into decorative tchotchkes but I think the little hot air balloons are pretty. They would make cute Christmas ornaments.

I think the hot balloons are gorgeous. But I also like your idea of making Christmas ornaments out of old light bulbs even better. They would probably be more durable than really Christmas tree ornaments. LOL!

I love the bumble bee - that's my kind of recycling. The lamp's pretty good as well, and rather apt. And the flower vases are cool. I have window bars at home, and these would make great decorations. I think I'll do this for Christmas, actually, with some nice red flowers. Thanks for the share.

I am sure I would break the bulb before I made anything from it.  LOL  These are really creative ideas though!  The hanging flower vases are simple, but clever.  The bumble bee is pretty cute.

Nice, but I'm also troubled by some of the comments on that site about cfl's. "Weeks instead of years" and that
old standby-mercury toxins.

I suppose they would rather burn more coal (mercury) via the old lightbulbs? And if handled properly, cfl's do
last for years.

Cute ideas for a burnt bulb. I bet you can put a few drops of paint in the bulb, swish around and then put the top back on. Glue on a bow and a loop and you have an ornament ready to be displayed.

Just an idea for you guys. Use them to make a vape! Even if you don't smoke weed you can still use the vape to extract beneficial substances out a wide variety of plants and herbs!

I love the light bulb vases. I have often thought about finding ways to reuse bulbs and I'm glad this idea seems to be catching on. It's very encouraging to see so much creativity at work in the world.

How about reusing CFL bulbs, that could be fun?
