Unfriendly:
http://www.altenergyshift.com
Friendly:
AltEnergyShift Forums
another example...
Unfriendly:
http://edition.cnn.c...?iref=allsearch
Friendly:
CNN's Enviornment Blog
Notice that in both examples the links (friendly and unfriendly) point to the same destination but the friendly links tell you something useful about what's being linked to rather than the http://.
Here's a quick how-to that I think everyone will find useful:

Thanks for the heads up when it comes to posting links.
Yeah, I really noticed that unfriendly links look pretty ugly after posting one, but was unsure if leave it or try it to make it more friendly.
Now I will keep this in mind the next time :)
