Oh my, these are really awesome. What a great way to not only reuse pallets, but to avoid buying a brand new coffee table/side tables/bookshelves/etc that would be using new resources entirely.

Have you ever made your own furniture out of other items before?

I LOVE those. I used to work for an electrical contractor so I am now the proud owner of wire spool tables.  Yes, just like the ones that were popular in the 70s. I did paper collage decoupage on them and painted them. Those are the only furniture items I've remade, but if I didn't live in an apartment I know that a car would never be able to fit in my garage for all the reclaimed things in it waiting to be turned into furniture and other things.

We actually have a neighbor who sells pallet and we had bought some several times there. And we had used that in making a small table and a stand for our refrigerator before. And I remember we even use the wood from it to make a door in the kitchen.
It was really nice to reuse it since it could be used in several ways/purposes.

I am wondering about the style of the pallet. I don't think I have ever seen ones like that with the large 4 x 4 looking blocks between the panels. The ones used mostly around here have three regular (1 x 4?) boards laying on their narrow side to act as the spacers/support between the top and bottom panel. One on each end and one right in the middle.

These seem a lot more versatile design wise.

That is so cool and it looks great for it to have just been a pallet and they turned it into that! I have never done that before as I do not have a readily available supply of pallets but that looks like something I would definitely like to try and do. I have got old barn wood before and made shadow boxes, tables, and other things like that out if it. I guess that is the same idea, just a different product.

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean like this:

I did some digging around and I actually didn't realize there were so many different styles of pallets:

Potentially you could just ask a lumber mill near you if they have a certain style maybe? Or just use what you have access to and tweak it to your style. :)

Many homeowners in the lower income area's of Amarillo are waking up to the idea of using pallets
for fences.
Some have installed top/side rails to dress them up, some have painted them to hide the nicks and dents.
Heavy machine shops, radiator shops have super heavy duty ones that make great fences. B)
They're generally free, or low cost. And a great reuse of materials.

Those are really neat!!  I would definitely have some in my house.  I think I would paint them a darker color though. :)
