Animals are beneficial to people for the things they can provide. Animals are good source of food. People have learned to raise animals for food they can provide.

In addition to food, animals are also sources of materials that can be made into useful drugs. People make use of animals to work for them in different ways. Some animals make good pets for people. These animals provide companionship and pleasure to their owners.

What are the other beneficial effects of animals to people?

Except for being pets/companions, humans shouldn't
"use"
animals for anything.

I grew up with dogs in the household and so I could really say that having pets  was beneficial as they can make us feel less stressed/happy and they could also make us feel loved and important. Dogs can also protect us and our property from bad elements and they could give us warnings from dangers.

Taken from one of my articles posted on several sites ( http://expertscolumn...animals-people).

The skin of cattle, crocodile and snake are processed and made into leather. Leather is made into bags, hats and belts. Body coverings such as feather and fur are also made into clothing materials. Silk, a very beautiful cloth is made from the cocoon of the silkworm. Pearl is a precious gem. Pearls form inside oysters. They are made into rings, earrings and brooches. Shells of other sea animals are also used for making these articles. In addition, shells are used for making lamps, vases and window panes.

Fats from some animals are used in making different products. Tallow from cattle, goat and sheep is used in the manufacture of shortening (for cooking), margarine and candles. Blubber (whole fat) is used as fuel for lamps and in making cosmetics, soaps and glues. Gelatin comes from the skin and bones of some animals. It is used as food. The jelly you eat comes from gelatin; it is also used as coating for medical capsules.

Musk, a substance used in making perfume, comes from a gland of a musk deer. Insulin, a drug for the treatment of diabetes, used to be derived from the pancreas of cattle. Thyroxin, used in the treatment of goiter, comes from a gland of sheep.

This is good. It's always a good to remind people where a lot of common products that we use every day come from, because we don't often think about it. I have no problem eating animals for food but I don't kid myself about how they get to my table. I grew up raising chickens. It isn't pretty.

It also isn't even really a symbiotic relationship, with the exception of a few domestic animals. Animals don't really need us. We need them more. We should be grateful and good stewards, providing the best lives possible for the amount of time they're alive and treating them with respect and kindness and compassion even when we are ulimately going to take their lives from them.
