The server went down for a few hours due to running out of disk space. This was because we were saving a local copy of each nightly backup. I've changed it so that we delete the previous day's copy of file and db backups because all our backups are uploaded nightly to Amazon S3 anyway. So keeping an archive of local copies is not necessary.
There are 3 corrupt database tables (cause by running out of disk space) if they cannot be repaired or replaced with lastnight's tables then I will have to restore a backup from lastnight. Which would delete posts from today. Will update if this has to be done.
Sorry about the inconvenience. Thanks ShortPoet for the heads up.
Update: Was able to repair corrupt tables and also import missing DB files successfully. So there's no need to rollback site to last night's full backups.
