From a quick look at weather.com, looks like August average high temperatures in Amarillo are about thirty degrees higher than February highs.  Wonder if you'll get thirty more than 88?

Steady snow is expected for a good portion of New Hampshire through Monday.
Up to 18 inches of snow is possible in many areas.  Currently 11 Degrees.

More snow records broken.
"Boston has already seen the snowiest February on record after a parade of three storms
dumped more than three feet of snow." :brr:

How NASA scientists can call the second warmest January on record an anomaly is beyond me.

(Anomaly-something that deviates from what is standard, normal or expected.)

New Hampshire:  NO SNOW TODAY!
. . . The Sun is shining, and
. . . . . . It's warmed up, 3 to 7 degree's.
The biggest danger is from Roof's Collapsing,
. . . from under the weight of all the snow.

Considering the brutal winter the East is having, how in the &^%$ can we still have above average temps?
Thundersnow, brutal snow fall amounts, freezing rain................and on and on.

Wouldn't that bring the averages down a peg?????

Ran across this from the Washington Post about snow storms and climate change.
"Sooner or later we’re going to have to get past the idea that global warming and huge amounts of snow are somehow contradictory."

Getting warmer now but we had several brutal days in a row; no sun, wind chills in the single digits and snow. :vava:

**And totally off topic but running errands today I was engulfed several times by massive pot holes. I'm talking
about suspension busting, window shattering, wheel's bent to smithereens, tailpipe dragging sink hole pot holes
from the days on end of below zero temps, snow, ice, more snow and oh yeah, cold!!
(Just a slight exaggeration)

In the Northeast, pot-holes are taken for granted.
. . . Getting warmer here also,
. . . this will be the First weekend without snow,
. . . in the last 8 weeks.

It struck me last week; when they were talking on the Weather Channel about the averages;
that the averages will change quickly.

"We're 20 degrees below the average; we've seen record snowfall." Blah Blah

As we continue to change the climate; those averages will too.

Heat records will continue to shatter records. Break out the 568,430 sunscreen.

Trouble is, sunscreen won't help.  If it could, that'd be great.  Sun's staying the same, sunlight and the sunburn inducing component, ultraviolet, is staying the same.  The increased infra-red emitted and reabsorbed and reemitted (and so on) by greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere do make us hotter but don't cause sunburn.   Warmer than usual around here, San Francisco area, record highs (for this day of the year) in some locales yesterday.  Goes with the really dry year we're having.  Wildflowers are out, but fewer than usual, new growth about half normal.  Was by a couple of vernal pools yesterday (see http://en.wikipedia....iki/Vernal_pool   ), much less water than usual.  Ravens been wading in, eating the tadpoles.  Normally too deep for that, tadpoles have time to develop into frogs before the pool dries up too much.  Maybe no new frogs from these pools this year.  Changes.

It's going to be a HOT sob this year. Only 3 weeks into March and I've already got my cooler up and running.
(It takes less coal to use than an a/c unit)

Tulips came up and dried out already.

Off topic but do you want a tasty, low calorie frozen treat?
Freeze your grapes (wash them first) Yummo. And more fiber than a pop-sickle.

For those readers of this forum that may remain clueless as to what "climate change" is; a great primer.
