I've been using coffee in my fridge to help to odor of some strong smelling foods, but i wasn't aware of the other uses.

Thank you!  I had been smelling something in the fridge for a week & baking soda just wasn't taking care of it at all.  I put a jar with some used coffee grounds in there & it took care of it within hours.

Also, I found the source of the odor.  Our teenager had lost the lid to his Tobasco sauce & had just stuck it in there anyway.  It got shuffled to the back of the shelf so I didn't see it to remove it.

I have used a coffee soap before and the scent feels weird yet relaxing. Other than drinking it, This is the next thing I will use my coffee for.

Wow! This is an excellent post. I never realized that coffee grounds will be that helpful and useful in many ways.
I like the fact that it reduces the bad odor. One good thing about it is that, it can be used as facial or body scrub!

I am really delighted to know all these things! Thanks!

I can not believe that I had all that in my hand and never used it. I will use all of the above and even try out the one for chasing roches. I know a friend hows house has lots of small roaches, she has tried a lot of pesticide to get ride of them but no lack. So if the idea can work, she will be very happy. Thanks.

Thanks for the post! What wonderful ideas. I've always used coffee grounds in my compost, but had no idea about the others. I like the body/facial scrub idea. I just recently decided I was going to start making my own body scrub. I was sick of paying for it and wasn't sure exactly what was in it. I used salt and olive oil, but now I think I'll try coffee grounds. I'll probably mix it with a little bit of olive oil for moisturizing. Love the ideas!

Lots of good ideas.  I'd never heard of using it as roach control.  Coffee grounds as compost is an excellent idea. Many coffeehouses in my city bag their coffee grounds and label them as 'grounds for gardeners.' During the winter I don't add coffee grounds to my compost pile but dump the grounds directly on the ground around plants. It won't hurt  the plants and will actually be an additional fertilizer in spring, and it's good control for rodents, including squirrels.

Interesting list! Thanks for sharing.. I would've never thought of any of those. I really like the one for covering scratches on furniture.. it's simple and very useful. Thanks again. :)

I like to mix my used coffee grounds with crushed egg shells and spread them around my rose bushes. One thing I will say is don't put your coffee grounds down the sink because it floats, same with egg shells.

Wow, I never realized that coffee grounds were a deodorizer.  TO me this makes way more sense than buying baking soda just for the purpose of absorbing odors.  I'm going to give this a try!

I've heard of using them as a cellulite scrub before. The caffeine in them is supposed to help break down fat. Didn't know they were good for roach control, but I have put them in compost. You can also reuse your coffee grounds to get more than one use out of them. When brewing a second pot, the coffee won't be as strong so you'll have to decrease the amount of water you use. You can do the same thing with tea bags as well.

It's not re-using coffee but I know someone who put coffee beans in a hurrican vase then put in a plain white voitve candle.  Light the candle and your entire house smells like a coffee house.  A non-toxic way to make your house smell good.

Same here Tom

I have an extra tip for beauty : coffee (mixed with some extra virgin olive oil), is a very good scrub for the body and it has real anti-cellulite effect ...

Thank you for all those info

I knew about the compost, and my husband has used it in plants which are difficult to grow, such as some herbs and garlic. I didn't know about using it for furniture scratches, though. It's also good for getting stains off ceramic tiles - particularly rust rings from beer cans, etc.

My grandparents were fisherman and would use the coffee grounds in the flower bed to grow their own worms.

If you were to add it to your soil in your garden, would it work as a pesticide?

To me, coffee already smells bad, (like feces). I can't imagine whether foot odor or coffee grounds would be more of an unappetizing odor. I don't want to be disrespectful but is this something that you seriously use? How long do the grounds stack in the shoes to provide their effect?

If you can't stand the smell of coffee, baking soda can do the same thing.
