“Innovation isn’t just a question of cleverness. It is rather a deeper and different observation of the obvious.” (Anis Aouini, the Saphonian’s inventor)
The use of the hydraulic system, as an intermediary link between the mechanical and electrical energies has major advantages. It actually converts the mechanical energy via pistons (working as axis piston pump) into hydraulic pressure that could either be stored (in hydraulic accumulator) or directly converted to electricity using hydraulic motor and generator. Hydraulic accumulators are affordable and scalable. This enables a better power grid management, and the possibility of long term contract for electricity supply.
